Market Report : Canadian Markets Performed the Previous Week.

A sprinkling of decent income from the Olympic gold miners with fever encouraged investors to ignore the fact that the U.S. Federal Reserve surprised the market with an increase of 0.25 percent in the discount rate this week. And, when all trade was done, the TSX Ventures Exchange, was home to more junior exploration companies than anywhere else in the world, added 2.20 percent, while the TSX Gold Index stuck at 1.57 percent.

Weekly Mining Market Report in London
After four consecutive weeks of negative sentiment has finally run its course and minors in London had a positive week. Problems related to the financial health of many of the smaller European economies continue, but now that the aid will be available when needed. However, for this work, some difficult decisions to be taken by governments in the case traditionally has been difficult. We’ll see how it goes in the coming months. Let us return to the markets and the FTSE 100 miners have increased on average by 4.4 %, while stocks of small and mid caps rose 4.6 %. (more…)
