Eldorado Gold Corp. said on Sunday agreed to smaller rival European Goldfields Ltd to acquire for approximately C $ 2.5 billion (U.S. $ 2.4 billion), in a move aimed at expanding its asset base in Greece and Turkey. Crude oil, gasoline and heating oil tumbled in New York after the International Energy Agency said its members would release crude from the strategic reserves. Ethanol also decreased. The agency announced the release of 2 million barrels a day for 30 days starting next week to help a Libyan disruption of supply. Half the amount will come from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve, according to the IEA and the U.S. Energy Department.
Crude Oil
Crude oil for August delivery fell $ 4.39, or 4.6 percent, to $ 91.02 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, under the 2010 years the closing price of $ 91.38.
