Jack Saunders is a miner. At 22, he is one of the youngest in the UK Small, dark and wiry, he looks younger than his age, but has worked at Hatfield near Doncaster, northern England, for four years and loves it. Mining is in the blood, he says. “My uncles, my father, my grandfather, my great-grandfather did it,” he says. “I never thought that I have a chance to get underground, because the well was closed when I was 16, but opened back up when I was 18. It is something that does not happen to the young boys these days. Mayor gives $ 50 million to Anti-Coal Campaign

Outlook says coal production will decline

This year’s market outlook says coal is still the largest source of energy generation in 2035, but production of Appalachian coal is expected to drop significantly.

Uranium Mine and Mill could boost economy by 300 million U.S. dollars yearly, study says

In Cyprus, Turkey Raises Stakes on oil drilling

ISTANBUL, Turkey said it was ready warships to send research vessels, which would go to oil and gas off the coast of Northern Cyprus, reacting to what was said was a provocation by the Greek of the island, Cypriot south escort.

Monday clash of arms came as Texas-based Noble Engineering Inc. began test drilling further south between Cyprus and Israel late Sunday, despite Turkish warnings to stop the project, the semi-official Cyprus News Agency reported.
