Massey Energy Sued by Pension Fund on mine accidents

coal miningMassey Energy Co., the largest coal producer in central Appalachia, has been sued by a pension fund on claims that the directors’ failure to address poor safety conditions have led to accident this month that killed 29 miners. Massey directors breached their fiduciary duties by failing to observe safety rules and to hire more than 25 million estimated by security breaches in the United States against mines and Public Health, New Jersey builders Fund Pensions said in a complaint filed April 23 in Delaware Chancery Court.
