Joint venture between iron ore producer Fortescue-BC Iron have officially received permission iron ore mining leases in Western Australia. Permission Nullagine iron ore mining lease has been issued by the West Australian Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP). Nullagine iron ore mine project is expected to begin production and shipping of iron ore by the end of this year. It is estimated that iron ore production in the early stages can reach 3 million tons per year and the end of June 2011 can be sent around one million tonnes.
Nullagine project currently host direct shipping ore (DSO) 36 million tons of reserves at 56.9% iron in the DSO resource of 50.7 million tonnes at 57% iron and iron storage resources overall channel 89.1 – million tons of iron 54.1%.
